Bushkill Hall - First Energy Met-Ed Site: Planning + Architecture
A reclamation of a former oil burning gas factory as part of First Energy's initiative to remediate defunct Met-Ed facilities and sites. The project re-envisions the building and the site, where the original factory had most recently been broken up and remodeled into a clothing factory, into a multi-plex Restaurant, Conference, Wedding Hall and outside Entertainment Center as part of the continued revitalization of downtown Easton, PA along the Delaware riverfront. The building strucuture is stripped bare to celebrate its original lofty structural steel members, as well as clerestory lighitng and industrial steel windows under true brick arches. The building and site are finessed to take full advantage of the views of the adjacent steel arched box-truss Easton-Phillipsburg and the unique cantilevered truss Northampton Street "Free" bridges.
